Lesley Michael, DO, PMH-C (she/her) is a NYC-based board-certified child & adolescent and adult psychiatrist, with specialties in reproductive/women’s and integrative psychiatry.

 Dr. Michael is an assistant professor of psychiatry at the Hofstra School of Medicine – Northwell Health and an attending psychiatrist at Lenox Hill Hospital (LHH). She previously served as the lead psychiatrist for the hospital’s Reproductive Mental Health Program, a collaborative and multi-disciplinary program providing support to people throughout pre-conception, pregnancy, post-partum, perinatal loss, and fertility journeys. Dr. Michael is the Director of the LHH’s Resident Mental Health Program, supporting the mental health needs of physicians-in-training.

Dr. Michael graduated with a B.A. from Barnard College, Columbia University, during which time she was a lab assistant for psychologist and mother-infant communication and attachment pioneer, Dr. Beatrice Beebe. Dr. Michael attended medical school at New York Institute of Technology – College of Osteopathic Medicine. She then completed an adult psychiatry residency at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, followed by a clinical fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Montefiore Medical Center - Albert Einstein College of Medicine (AECOM), where she worked in outpatient, inpatient and school-based settings (Bronx High School of Science and Fordham University). She then completed a one-year research fellowship through the University Scholars Program at AECOM in Integrative Medicine and Psychiatry, investigating the effectiveness of nutritional supplements in psychiatric disorders (for both prevention and treatment), as well as alternative modalities of healing.

Dr. Michael has advanced training in reproductive psychopharmacology. She is certified in perinatal mental health (PMH-C) by Postpartum Support International (PSI), a distinction indicating specialization and experience in treating people before, during, and after pregnancy. She is also a member of the Katz Institute for Women’s Health at Northwell.

Dr. Michael is licensed to practice medicine in New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts.
